Description
This is a challenging and fulfilling Senior-Level position for dedicated professionals. As a Sr. Consultant you will be exposed to a variety of technologies and responsibilities, with a potential for significant growth and advancement. You will play a key role in leading and being a part of cross-functional teams where you will expand your skill set and gain valuable and up-to-date experience within a client-facing business and finance consulting role.
Scope of Role
- Implement predefined tasks within allotted time and based on established requirements
- Assist in building project plans
- Involved in formal communication with client (lead meetings)
- Nurture and respect client relationships
- Mentor and coach Software Consultants on the current project
- Work in a supportive manner with project team members
- Maintain and improve technical and business skill set
Job Responsibilities
- Front End (Application)
- Install and configure Clarity 6
- Build complex Clarity 6 templates and reports based on specifications and imbed required functionality
- Test Clarity 6 templates and reports to verify expected results and performance
- Communicate knowledgably about financial budgeting, planning, reporting and consolidation concepts and processes
- Document completed project deliverables
- Back End (Database)
- Install and configure OLAP database software
- Build OLAP databases including the outline, calculations, automation and optimization; with increased focus on complex calculations and difficult performance tuning
- Build complex relational databases including the schema, stored procedures, and tables
- Extract, transform and load data into both OLAP and relational databases
- Verify data loaded into OLAP and relational databases
- Document completed project deliverables
- Client Relations and Business Development
- Ensure that the customer’s needs are adequately addressed during the implementation
- Resolve customer issues in a timely and responsive manner
- Escalate customer issues that are unresolved to the Project Team Lead
- Build and foster strong client relationships during the implementation; gaining credibility and trust
Qualifications (Must Have)
- Post secondary education in Computer Science, Accounting or Business discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of exposure to an IT development environment
- Advanced knowledge and extensive experience in building relational databases; including the ability to populate and extract data and create stored procedures
- Ability to create complex formulas, macros and sophisticated formatting in Microsoft Excel
- IT project experience considered a definite asset
- Articulate and professional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to lead client meetings, and actively listen
- Strong problem solving ability
- Ability to mentor and coach less experienced team members
- Strong analytical and business acumen; able to understand the link between business need and application of technology
- Proven track record in working with multiple initiatives and projects at the same time
- Proven ability to deliver project deliverables on time and within scope
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Previous IT consulting or implementation experience especially with financial budgeting, planning, reporting or consolidation systems
- Experience in preparing:
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Profit and Loss Statements
- Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements
- Management Reporting
Other Requirements
- Willingness and legal ability (required documentation) to immediately travel and work across Canada and the United States (at least 40% of time)
