Description
The Software Developer creates and maintains applications as a member of the Product Development Group (PDG). The PDG is responsible for developing, testing, and supporting Clarity's suite of corporate performance management applications. As a member of the PDG, you will participate in all aspects of software development, including designing and writing new application components, supporting existing applications, testing software, and enhancing the development environment. You will be exposed to a variety of technologies and responsibilities. This is an entry-level position with real potential for rapid growth and advancement.Technical Requirements
- A solid understanding of relational databases, web applications, and operating systems
- Experience working with relational databases, especially SQL Server or Oracle, including writing SQL and stored procedures, basic administration tasks, and development tools such as Query Analyzer or Toad
- Knowledge of key OLAP concepts (experience with IBM DB2 OLAP/Hyperion Essbase and Microsoft Analysis Services a plus)
- Experience with the Microsoft .NET framework including C#, ASP.NET, Windows Forms, and Visual Studio.NET
- Experience developing or maintaining COM+ applications written in Visual Basic 6.0
- Working knowledge of source control systems (e.g. Visual SourceSafe) and unit testing frameworks (e.g. NUnit)
- Familiarity with object oriented programming concepts
- Experience with web application and scripting technologies such as browsers, HTML, XML, XPath, XSLT, ASP, VBScript, and JavaScript
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 1 year experience in software programming or business application development, ideally with financial applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Superior organizational, problem solving, and time management abilities
- Passionate about providing solutions to challenging technical problems
