Job Profile: Solutions Engineer
Reports to: Manager, Solutions Engineering - North AmericaLocation: Toronto and selected locations in the USA
Description
The Solutions Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for our Sales Representatives including building proof of concepts (POC's) and demonstrating technical features of Clarity 6. Job Duties
- Build POC's and meet with potential customers to clarify their business needs
- Present Clarity 6 demonstrations to prospective customers
- Provide technical support to the Sales Team; primarily on Clarity 6, Hyperion Essbase and Microsoft Analysis Services
- Work closely with entire Sales Team to evaluate and assist in sales strategy and solution recommendations for prospective customers
- Build and enhance Clarity 6 sales demonstration software
- Guide and supervise staff who are assisting in building POC’s
- Provide feedback to the Software Development Team on Clarity 6 functionality and enhancements
- Assist with development of proposals and responses to RFI and RFP documents
- Understand and keep up to date with competitive products and technology and communicate updates to management – leverage this understanding in presentations and demonstrations
Qualifications and Skills
- Post secondary education in Computer Science, Accounting or Business discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years of related work experience
- Expert skills in using and implementing Clarity 6
- Advanced skills in Hyperion Essbase and Microsoft Analysis Services
- Knowledge and experience in building relational databases; including the ability to populate and extract data and create stored procedures
- Strong grasp of the types of financial applications that Clarity Systems implements
- Ability to gather and understand the potential customer’s requirements and convert the requirements into an effective POC
- Comfortable with presenting to and talking with C-level executives
- Ability to effectively deliver technical information to an audience comprised of varying degrees of technical knowledge
- Strong written communication skills for responses to proposals, RFI and RFP documents
- Excellent customer facing skills

- Proven track record in working with multiple initiatives and projects at the same time
- Willingness and ability to immediately travel and work across Canada and the United States for at least 50% of the work week
